Am so tired today now, Day 2 of the Alan Dunn workshop today, we made Foxglove flowers & leaves, it was very time-consuming & took most of the day to make the buds, leaves & finally the foxglove flower, we then taped & dusted the foxglove, it looks very effective but dunno how Alan did the 7 or 8 sprays of it for his Wild Flowers book, must have taken a week non stop! We also made Cranes Bill Leaves, similar to japanese maple leaf & alan demonstrated the Cranes Bill Flower however due to time constraints we didn’t finish the flowers. I’ve attached pics of my final Foxglove, Orchid & Begonia Arrangement & Alan’s Cranes Bill testing few colour variations (normally they are plum in colour. I really enjoyed the two days & can’t wait till his next one!

Well done Vicky. I have Alan Dunn’s Wild Flower book and I am just about to make the foxgloves in my sugarcraft class. I am retired and it is just a hobby for me but I am delighted to look at your example. I will let you know if mine come out ok. My twin sister and I had a double wedding and next year, in July, we celebrate a double 40 year anniversary. I am going to ATTEMPT to make either the cake on page 37 or the one on page 45. It depends on how hard the foxgloves are to make. Anyway, good luck and thank you
Thanks for your lovely message, Alan is amazing & so talented. I’m delighted you like the sugarcraft it’s addictive, i’m only doing it about 2 years now by night but love it and especially the flowers, they are so rewarding when you have an arragnement on a cake. Wow double wedding & double wow on 40 year anniversary – Congratulations. You have plenty of time to get the flowers ready for the cake. The foxglove are so beautiful, they take a wile to make, well its more fiddly but you only need a couple of them to make impact. I can’t remember how many Alan said he had on the cake, he made it for his sisters 21st. Great to hear from you & best of luck, Vicky x
